Upgrade the app to allow

  1. FTM Field Team Members to create an appointment while still in the field.
  2. Schedule upgrade / optional view
  3. Customer search in app
  4. Ability for FTM to see ‘engineer notes’. Historical notes that are shared with the engineer.
  5. FTM to be able to download ‘FTM pdf’ from the quote
  6. Assets to be listed in the app with descriptions and photos etc
  7. Quote creation and supply list added to app

How it will work

FTM Field Team Members to create an appointment while still in the field

We need to be able to book a new customer into the app. So we need the enquiry form put into the app. And this I know is quite a big job because we will need to query the database if we want to check whether it is an existing customer.

We also need to be able to easily book another appointment for the job they are currently on. So, we need another option in the app to say ‘book follow on work’ and a calendar in their to enable the FTM to do that and then place that appointment in the schedule as well.

Schedule upgrade / optional view

The current app calendar view is perfect for day to day but if you want to see what the job types are over say 3 months it is hard to visualize. Luckily we have already a perfect view for this in the system schedule and it looks awesome on a phone and works really well as you scroll to the right to see the appointments. This is of course viewing the system in a browser. How hard this will be to translate into the Android app and iOS app I will leave to the development team.

Customer search in app

The FTM will probably be need to be able to search the customer CRM just like the system. However, we need to be able to place restrictions on what they can see which means we will probably have to re-visit the access control project before we do this. It might be easier to release different versions of the app. This will certainly have price implications for the clients as we add more complexity and different versions.

Ability for FTM to see ‘engineer notes’. Historical notes that are shared with the engineer.

We need to upgrade the description of works or ‘job details’ or probably add another box under it where we put notes that are shared with the engineer. So, historical details of the job. For example. A commercial boiler will have several services over it’s life time and notes about that can be placed in here. We also need to have access to old job sheets with information on and any information on the assets.

FTM to be able to download ‘FTM pdf’ from the quote

This is part of the FTM / Supplier quote upgrade but it needs to be mentioned that we need to make this FTM sheet with the stripped out financial information available to the app so the FTM can use it to perform a task agreed to on the quote.

Assets to be listed in the app with descriptions and photos etc

This is part of the Asset Tracking and Management project but needs mentioning that having this information available in the app is key.

Quote creation and supply list added to app

The supplier list upgrade project has to be completed first. But we need to build a stripped down version of the quoting tool in the app. The drop down menus can be populated form the supplier list prices and it will work in a similar fashion to the invoices section on the app.
